hands on demo

If we would do a hands-demo in the future, what should we do for it?

I would like to learn things like how to fix a bike, how to be more energy efficient (i.e. solar energy, though this may be difficult or expensive to do in one session), stretch a canvas, make your own clothes.

Do any of these thoughts resonate with you? Do you or someone you know have these skills? What would you like to share/learn? Any other suggestions?

I would like to share: bike wheels, tires and tubes. what's what, what to repair or replace and when.

I have a mobile rack and tools. All we need is a flat tube/tire and maybe someone who wants to change from dirt to road tires...

Should we do this in the spring? Perhaps we could combine the demo with discussion about transportation issues, (methods, peak oil, alternatives, etc.).

It was suggested that we might want to combine this with Critical Mass. Reap the benefits of our newly tuned machines!
